The 144th Open Championship was played across the Old Course at St Andrews during mid-July this year. Following the pattern of the last few Open Championships, some periods of extreme weather were experienced, which led to some major greenkeeping challenges. Despite the weather, the Old Course was in fabulous condition and widely applauded by the media and players. The conditions presented were a culmination of hard work, commitment and accuracy of maintenance implemented by the greenstaff at The Home of Golf, under the watchful eye and expert management of Gordon Moir (Director of Greenkeeping) and Gordon McKie (Course Manager), combined with the implementation of accurate and sound agronomic practices over the past decade
