Significant issues were raised during a recent presentation in Adanta regarding introduction and implementation of the FDA Egg Safety Final Rule without satisfactory assurances that the program would be implemented equitably, impartially and without disruption. The important areas which were reviewed at the meeting organized by the UEP included: Every farm must have a written Salmonella enteritidis (SE) prevention plan specifying supervisory personnel and noting biosecu-rity procedures, surveillanceprotocols and recorded results.
