The mental health of muslims in Britain

摘要

This paper offers a profile of the Muslim communities living in Britain and their relationship to mental health services, as well as briefly introducing a number of related concepts relevant in understanding the experiences of the Muslim community. The prevalence of Muslims in Britain and their presence in mental health services is presented, as well as reference to the impact of definitions and descriptions of social, religious, and cultural issues related to defining Muslim identity. The problems of racism and Islamaphobia on the experience of Muslims within mental health services are also acknowledged.
