It's pointless arguing about who will build Australia's national broadband network. An innovative project in Canada shows we've got it all wrong anyway. We all know what NBN should stand for, but it most likely means 'No Bloody Network' or 'No Broadband Never'. The outcome is much the same - not enough bandwidth or competition, so prices remain high and the opportunity for change offered by higher bandwidth remains out of reach. The more I talk to our industry, and people in general, the more I believe the focus for the National Broadband Network is wrong.
