FOR the past eight years, Jacqui Molyneux has worked as a 'vet in attendance' for a greyhound racing track. Here, she provides an insight into what this demanding, yet rewarding, area of practice activity entails. THE UK has 31 licensed greyhound racing tracks; they are all run under the rules laid down by the National Greyhound Racing Club (NGRC), which is the equivalent of The Jockey Club. There are also unlicensed tracks in the UK, but none of the comments in this article relate to them, as they do not have a governing body or any obligation to have a vet present during racing.
