摘要

The present study deals with the utilization of treated tannery effluent and its impact on growth and some biochemical characteristics of certain crop plants such as Phaseolus mango (L)., Abelmoschus esculantus (L) Medikus., and Vigna radiata (L). The percentage germination and seedling length were affected by tannery effluent. The fresh weight and dry weight of crop plants were decreased with increase in the concentration of effluent. The pigment level, carbohydrate and protein content was reducedwith increasing concentration. L. Proline level was increased in the leaves of the plant with the increase in the level of the concentration of treated tannery effluent. Amoung the three crop plants studied Phaseolus mungo (L)., and Vigna radiata (L). are tolerent than Abelmoschus esculantus.
