Length - weight relationship of fresh water spiney eel mastacembelus armatus (Lace'pede) from Marathwada region

The length-weight relationship is one of the standard method yielding authentic biological information. It provides a means from calculating weight from the length. It determine the mathematical relationship between the two variables and to calculatethe variation from the expected weight for length of the individuals or groups of fishes (Le cren 195 I). The variation in growth rate is more frequent in fishes due to variation in season multiple spawning and food composition. The mostacembelus armatusis very common in all fresh watering of Marathwada and it is a very popular fish among the consumers of this area. In the present investigation the length-weight relationship of male and female M. armatus has been undertaken by observation of total 503fishes in which 250 were male 253 were female.
