Some morphometric deformities in fresh water spiny eel (Pisces) Mastacembelus armatus (Cuv and Val)

In the present investigation different body parameters of abnormal fish I and II of fresh water spiny eel, Mastacembelus Armatus are compared with the morphometric data of normal fishes of the same species using standard length as independent variable in the linear regression equation y=a+bx. The present study shows the deformities in dorsal fin, caudal fin, anal fin, latral line and direction of finrays are recorded in first abnormal specimen. In second abnormal specimen deformities such as predorsal and post dorsal length, prenal and postanal length, weight and hight of body are recorded and compared with normal fishes. The probable reason for the deformities in the morphometry of fishes are discussed.
