The partners in the Wei oil complex in Block 22/12 in the Beibu Gulf offshore China are looking at a cheaper development solution involving small platforms and pipelines rather than the initial concept of using a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. Australia's Horizon Oil said that China's stateowned CNOOC is backing the concept of providing pipeline capacity between its own existing Wei 12-1 platform and onshore processing facilities on Weizhou Island.
