摘要

To evaluate the potential for using Surface Renewal analysis (SR) to determine latent heat flux density (lambdaE) over short and tall canopies, high frequency temperature measurements were taken to calculate sensible heat flux density (H) and lambdaE using H values with net radiation and soil heat flux density in the energy balance equation. Different experiments were carried out over grass, wheat, sorghum, grape vines, avocado, and lemon under a range of environmental conditions. The results werecompared with lambdaE values calculated using an independent measurement of H obtained with a sonic anemometer (Eddy Covariance technique). The results showed that the SR method (i) provided a good estimate of lambdaE; and (ii) may simplify and improve the measurement of evapotranspiration.
