摘要

The introduction of the Code for Sustainable Homes, skilled worker shortages and speed of build have become key considerations for the modern construction industry. Increasingly, developers are turning to innovative, off-site building systems, such as timber and steel, to achieve sustainability targets set by the government and to maximise efficiency of build. The strengths of using off-site timber and steel construction systems lie in the high repeatability of the design, making them popular for projects such as social housing, schools, hospitals and hotels. Moreover, the straightforward nature of installation, afforded by the off-site manufacturing process, overcomes the widespread skills shortage currently faced within the construction industry.
