The ongoing decline in pulp, paper and OSB production in the Lake States continues a buyers' market for pulpwood, which began during fourth quarter. Inventory positions were adequate to full for all reporting mills going into breakup season. The annual breakup seems to be on schedule. Road restrictions had begun at press time, as the ground freeze receded. A wood procurement manager in Minnesota said, "We've put in the most wood ever this year going into breakup."
