ISA to focus on waste management

Industrial Services of America Inc (ISA) has found recycling profitability so elusive that the firm wants to get out of that sector altogether and focus instead on waste management services and equipment leasing."For sale" signs are being posted on the company's scrap assets and businesses such as the former Tri-City Scrap yard in Louisville. In a statement Industrial Services said: "The company is actively pursuing prospective buyers of this division," referring to its recycling operations. "The current depressed state of the cyclical metals and paper commodities markets, in combination with excess inventories, have contributed to poor performance by the company's scrap and recycling division. Sale of these assets is anticipated to improve the company's financial outlook," the company said.
