Russia's Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko met his Turkish counterpart Taner Yildizand on Tuesday in Ankara to discuss energy cooperation between the two countries ahead of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey scheduled for Aug. 6. Putin is expected to work out details of numerous energy projects, including an invitation for Russian state-owned oil major Rosneft to look at supplying the Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean, which has been proposed by Italy's Eni and Turkey's Calik Enerji.
