Midsize Russian producer Alliance Oil saw profits fall 10% year-on-year in the first quarter despite higher revenues as rising transport costs ate away at margins. The Stockholm-listed company posted net income of $45.5 million in the first three months of 2010, down from $50.5 million in the same period of 2009 (IOD May29,p9).
