UK-listed independent Sound Oil said Tuesday that it has asked London's junior Alternative Investment Market (AIM) to suspend trading in its shares as it pursues talks about the possible acquisition of a private company with oil assets off West Africa. The private company is majority-owned by a trust connected with mining and resources investor Frank Timis, the founder of Regal Petroleum and European Goldfields, who also chairs African Minerals.
