Eni Closes Distrigas Deal

Italy's Eni said Wednesday that it has gained full control of Belgian gas marketer Distrigas after buying all the remaining shares (IOD Mar.26,p7). Eni launched a squeeze-out scheme on Apr. 9 to buy the remaining 1.14% stake in the company it did not already own; this was completed on Monday. Distrigas shares were delisted from Euronext Brussels on Tuesday, except for the golden share held by the Belgian government.
