Canada-listed Primeline Energy has inked a letter of intent with China Oilfield Services (COSL) for a contract to drill one exploration well in the East China Sea off China. Primeline said this week that a jack-up rig has been mobilized and once it is released from its current contract between March and May, COSL will drill one exploration well in Block 25/34. The proposed well, LS35-3-1, is about 14.5 km from Primeline's Lishui 36-1 gas discovery, for which it recently submitted an overall development plan to Beijing for approval (IOD Dec.21,p7). If the new well is successful, it can be tied into the development.
