The tridenate NSN-donor ligand 5-(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-3-thia-1-pentaneamine (dptpa) renders coordination compounds with halide and nitrate salts of divalent cobalt, nickel, copper, and zinc with general formula [M(dptpa)X_2].
