A method has been developed for producing chemically modified fibre materials containing, on their surface, covalently fixed, microanosized organosiloxane coatings with oligohexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride groups. The possibilities are shown of their practical use for protecting materials against biodamage by gram-positive and gram-negative microflora and insects (Cerafophaga). In a continuation ofour research in the field of biologically active organic derivatives of silicon, in particular organosiloxane polymer coatings possessing biocidal action [1-3] and immobilised on the surface of textile fibres, it was of interest to synthesise new guanidine-containing organosiloxane polymer coatings covalently bound with the surface of textile fibres, and to investigate their properties. The present paper sets out the results of work on the synthesis of new organosiloxane coatings containing oligohexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride (OHMGH) and theassessmentofthe biological activity of specimens of textile materials modified with them.
