摘要

For the prevention of air pollution in urban areas and the protection of global environment, vehicles have to take responsibility for reducing both harmful components and carbon dioxides in exhaust gas. To comply with the strict emission regulations for gasoline-powered vehicles, the following advanced emission control technologies have been developed: three-way catalysts with precise A/F control system, NO{sub}x reduction catalysts used for lean-burn engines and catalyst quick activation system used for reducing cold start emissions have been developed. In the future, progress in NO{sub}x reduction catalyst for a gasoline direct injection engine will become key technology as measures to counter global warming.
