摘要

Trace element control and alloy selection can be large contributing factors in optimizing the yield and reducing the cost to produce complex castings. Improved temperature capability in regards to mechanical properties is important in aerospace and industrial gas turbine applications for improved engine efficiency. The current trend in superalloy development is to reduce the cost by improving casting yields and replacing of rare, expensive alloying elements. Three current alloys with these improvements include CM 939 Weldable, 718Plus, and CMSX-8.
