摘要

The effective elastic behavior of some models for low density cellular solids, or solid foams, are calculated using analytical and numerical techniques. The models are 'perfect' in the sense that imperfections or irregularities as often encountered in real foams have been removed. We believe that the present models can serve as references to which more advanced models which include imperfections and irregularities can be compared. The work in this paper does not address buckling or yielding in cell walls, which play an increasingly important role as foam stresses increase. Materials: aluminum and polymers.
