Infratentorial Subdural Abscess A Rare Complication of Chronic Otitis Media with.Cholesteatoma

Introduction: Intracranial complications of otitis media represent a challenging situation because of its high mortality rate. It is a neurosurgical emergency and prompt surgical intervention is required in most cases.Method: Case report.Result: We present a case of a patient with an infratentorial subdural empyema as a result of chronic otitis media with cho-lesteatoma that was successfully treated with emergency neurosurgical intervention, combined with prolonged course of antibiotics and modified radical mastoidectomy as a second stage surgery.Conclusion: Infratentorial subdural empyema represents a rare form of intracranial purulent collection that usually arises from neglected otogenic infections.
