UDEC SIMULATION FOR DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF A ROCK SLOPE SUBJECT TO EXPLOSIONS

摘要

Dynamic response of Huangmailin Phosphorite rock slope under explosion is simulated by two-dimensional universal distinct element code (UDEC) and compared with field measurements. It is shown that the simulated vertical and horizontal velocity history of the slope toe agree well with the measured results. The deviation of the computational peak particle velocity of the slope toe from that of site monitoring is less than 20 percent. It is also reported that the block near the top of slope is stable under explosion after undergoing very small permanent displacements (0.7 cm in x direction and -2.2cm in y direction). The stress of the rock slope is small. And it can be also concluded that the rock slope under explosion is stable, which is in accordance with macroscopic investigation on the stability of the slope after explosion. Therefore, UDEC can be used to effectively simulate the dynamic response of jointed rock slope.
