ANUC has increased the horizontal dis-tances between tie bars of its four new Roboshot B all-electric machines compared with previous models and provided greater clamping unit rigidity to support heavier moulds.On the 50 and 100 tonne models,for example,the distances are 40 mm greater at 360 and 460 mm respectively.The moving platen is of rigid two-piece design and deflection is reduced by concentrating the toggle clamping force into the centre of the platen.Injection speeds have been increased from 200 to 330 mm/second with 500 mm/second available with a direct drive low inertia servo motor drive system.This is said to open up opportunities to use the B machines for high speed thin-wall packaging production.
