FIRST FULLY AUTOMATED CELL BUILT IN THE UK FOR PRODUCING PLASTIC UTILITY PIPE COUPLINGS

An automated injection moulding cell designed and built by Kettering-based integrator, Hi-Tech Automation, is enabling the production of electrofusion couplers for joining plastic utility pipes at a significantly lower cost than previously. It is the first of its kind to be built in the UK and the high productivity will allow manufacturers in the West to compete with low-wage countries.
