I have been involved in a number of groups of staff that have been working on various projects. Some of these groups are ward-based, some unit-based and some specialty-based, and a number are multidisciplinary.The projects have ranged from one or two staff introducing a new way of recording what patients have eaten at each meal; to a trust-wide introduction of clinical supervision for all staff. Whatever the size of the group or of the project, I have encouraged the team in their initial planning stage to build into their project the eventual aim of publishing what they are doing. Even if the project did not fulfil all its objectives, it can still be valuable to publish the process and identify why it didn't achieve what you had hoped. Other people can learn a lot from both the success and failure of projects. Simply publishing success accounts introduces what is called 'publication bias'; published material tends to record and publicise predominantly that which worked well.
