摘要

The Gas Dispersion Modelling Harmonization Initiative has been successful in highlighting significant differences between models for quantifying the dispersion of gaseous emissions.Possible areas for developing the initiative further are detailed in this paper.The key issuer raised are:a)The need for a definitive set of full-scale experiments to quantify dispersion from stacks with heights in the range 10-70m.Particular emphasis should be directed towards unstableatmospheric conditions,since these cause the highest ground-level concentrations.b)The need to define criteria to judge whether or not a dispersion model is acceptable.c)The importance of the choice of source conditions and emission rate modelling on gas dispersion predictions.d)The need to champio the development of new dispersion models to cover a wider range of practical gas dispersion applications.
