In this paper, four mathematical models, i.e. Linear, Exponential, Gompertz and Logistic models were fitted to the data relating to the body weight growth of Vencob broiler (meat type chicken) one day to 8 weeks of age to find out on the basis of their R~2 (coefficient of determination) which model explains best the growth variation of the broiler. Data from strain Vencob provided evidence that Linear and Exponential models were poor fit as compared to Gompertz and Logistic curve. Again Gompertz model explained the growth performance more precisely that Logistic model (during 0-8 weeks of age of the birds) as to be judged from their respective R~2 vaules.
