A STUDY ON CONFORMATION AND PERFORMANCE OF MOTTU CATTLE

摘要

A study on 570 Mottu cattle in Malkangiri district of Orissa on conformation traits revealed that males weretaller and longer than the females. Males had higher body weight and possessed longer horns thanfemales. The overall means of age at sexual maturity, age at first calving, service period, dry period,lactation length were 1443.62 +- 10.83, 1759.81 +- 10.31, 143.3 +- - 1.3, 407.5 +- 1.9, 250.78 +- 1 8 and 157.2 +- 1.4days, respectively. The average daily milk yield was 0.591 +- 0.01 kilograms.
