Macmillan lead acute oncology/haematology nurse

The acute oncology team also manages the CUP service; this service is for a group of patients who, historically, have long delays in their diagnostic pathway and generally have poorer outcomes.There is now a coordinated pathway, multidisciplinary team meeting and a weekly clinic that has significantly improved things for patients and their families. The acute oncology nurses are the key workers for these patients and provide psychosocial support. These patients can have a high level of need; often the difficulty is coping with the lack of certainty around their cancer. We are undertaking a patient satisfaction survey and I am very interested to hear the patients' thoughts.
