Design and Analysis of New Type Slots on Piston to Control Thermal Expansion

摘要

This work deals with designing and analysing of an aluminium piston making new type of slots on it. By using an innovative idea, through case studies and research the designing of new slots are obtained. Using advanced CAD packages the slots are designed and the designed new slots are analysed using ANSYS package. In this new task we will achieve the material reduction and increase in material life with an effective controlled thermal expansion. Also we will be reducing overall engine weight and thus by improving the performance of the engine.
