It is with great pleasure that I bring you the 4th edition of the Wound Care Handbook. The content has been carefully updated, and new products - and new versions of existing products - that have come onto the market in the past year have been added. We have made every effort to ensure that the Handbook continues to be a reliable, comprehensive and easy-to-use resource that will help you with your day-to-day decision-making. In addition, the introductory texts by Keith Cutting have, where necessary, been updated to include the latest evidence.Not every product listed will be available to every practitioner, many of whom will work from local formularies. However, the Handbook offers guidance on the large range available within each of the various dressing categories and their different applications, as well as insight into the technologies behind them.The information contained in the Handbook is no substitute for detailed product knowledge. Anyone working with wound-care products has a responsibility to familiarise themselves with the manufacturers instructions and the most up-to-date evidence regarding their use.
