Embryonal nephroma in a lion cub (Panthera leo)

Embryonal nephroma is not uncommon in domestic animals, it occurs frequently in pigs ( Hyashi et al., 1986) and in dogs (Klein et al., 1988). However, reports pertaining to embryonal nephroma in wild animals are sparse. The present article puts on record a case of embryonal nephroma in a lion cub. A carcass of cub aged 2 1/2 months old was brought to the department of Pathology, Veterinary College, Mhow, for post-mortem examination from Kamala Nehru Park, Indore, with a history of short illness and sudden death.
