CLINICO-HAEMATOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL CHANGES IN CATTLE DURING PARAMPHISTOMIASIS

Alterations in clinico-haematological and biochemical parameters were studied in cattle suffering from paramphistomiasis. Infected animals showed clinical symptoms such as weakness, inappetance, unthriftiness, anaemia, diarrhoea, submandibular oedema,reduced milk production in cows and hampering of working performance in bullocks. Infected animals revealed significantly decreased Hb, PCV and TEC and non-significantly increased TLC. DLC profiles as well as erythrocytic indices were found to be disturbed. Biochemical parameters revealed non-significant decrease in blood glucose and significant decrease in total protein, albumin and A/G ratio. There were increase in AST, ALT and ALP profiles.
