PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein a conventional biochemical cartridge has no method for measuring the amount of a specimen injected to a chamber for accumulating the specimen, and when the amount of the specimen in the cartridge is insufficient, the detection cannot be carried out in high reliability. PSOLUTION: The biochemical reaction cartridge has a plurality of chambers at least comprising the chamber for accumulating the specimen, a chamber for the chemical reaction, capable of accumulating a solution for carrying out a biochemical treatment, and a reaction chamber for carrying out the detection reaction of a target material in the biochemically treated specimen, and a plurality of passages communicating the chambers.
