The incidence of cervico-vaginal prolapse is not uncommon in cattle and buffaloes. It is also reported in case of sheep (Sinha and Goel, 1993). They opined that one of the major causes for this condition is decrease in serum calcium and magnesium level and increase in inorganic phosphorus during pregnancy period. Jones (1958) recorded its incidence 0.5 to 20 per cent in ewes. The reason for prolapse is excessive secretion of oestrogens during later stage of pregnancy, which may lead to relaxation of pelvic ligaments. Bennetts et al. (1946) also mentioned about vaginal prolapse in non-pregnant ewes to the extent of 10 to 12 per cent due to high estrogen content in pasture grasses. But the incidence of pre-partum cervico-vaginal prolapse in case ofdoe is very rare, for which it is reported here with a successful treatment.
