Optimum body weight at first calving of dairy heifer is important for its future stress on production performance as it influences the age at first calving as well as first lactation milk yield. The overall economy of a buffalo depends mainly upon the age at first calving. Reduction in age at first calving decreases generation interval, enables sire testing programmme at an early predictable proportion.
