Thune Calls On USTR To Step Up Efforts To Address Problems With TPP

Sen. John Thune (R-SD), a senior member of the Senate Finance Committee, said Tuesday (Jan. 12) that the Obama administration needs to go beyond talking with Republicans about their specific objections to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement and actually make an effort to resolve them. Asked by reporters whether he believed the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has made sufficient efforts on this front, Thune responded: "Well, I think that they've made attempts, but I think they're going to have to do a better job of trying to fix some of these issues that people have raised."
