摘要

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum last weekend, trade ministers representing key members of the World Trade Organization set the stage for a debate over the WTO's future negotiating agenda that is expected to formally kick off next month in Geneva at a meeting of the Trade Negotiations Committee. In their Jan. 25 meeting in Davos, Switzerland, ministers laid out their views regarding the WTO's negotiating agenda going forward. But they did not explicitly discuss the key question of whether WTO members should seek to preserve the single undertaking of the Doha round or continue the piecemeal approach taken at the December ministerial conference in Bali, Indonesia, according to an informed source.
