摘要

SINGAPORE - If Australia sees a change in government as a result of elections set for this September, the new government may be more willing to consider subjecting Australia to an investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) mechanism in a final Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal, according to an Australian business representative. Bryan Clark, director of trade and international affairs at the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), said in an interview here that this is because the opposition Liberal Party has said it wants to return to the previous Australian policy of deciding whether to include ISDS in free trade agreements on a case-by-case basis.
