Mosaic closes phosphate mine

The Mosaic Co.,a leading US producer of potash and phosphate nutrients,is to permanently close its 3.5m.s.tpa Kingsford,central Florida,phosphate mining operations.The closure,set for 12 September 2005,is owing to the depletion of phosphate ore reserves after nearly 40 years of mining operations at the facility.
