摘要

Weeds primarily compete for nutrient, moisture and sunlight in the early stage than in later stage. Competition between plants is maximum when available resources for their growth become limiting. Weeds removed 5-6 times N, 5-12 times P and 2-5 timesK compared to cotton uptake (Jain et al., 1981). According to Chander et al. (1994) herbicides alone or in combination with one hand weeding reduced the dry weight and nutrient uptake of weeds significantly. This study was undertaken to estimate the nutrient uptake by weeds and cotton as influenced by directed application of nonselective post-emergence herbicides in combination with cultural method.
