摘要

Arbuscular mycorrhizal AM fungi are ubiquitous in soils throughout the world. They are reported to be involved in improvement of plant growth and enhancing accumulation of plant nutrients mainly phosphorus, zinc, copper and sulphur through greatersoil exploration by mycorrhizal hyphae Kumar eta/., 4; Wani and Lee, 7. AM fungi have also been observed to increase the tolerance in plants against different kinds of biotic and abiotic stresses. Keeping these facts in view, the present investigations were carried out to assess the efficiency of different AM species in improving growth, productivity and nutritional uptake in bittergourd.
