摘要

The seedless cultivar Perlette has assumed great importance in northern India owing to its early maturity, attractive colour, heavy bearing and good fruit quality. However this cultivar suffers from physiological disorders like compact bunches, shot berry and water berry (Sharma and Daulta, 7). The phenomenon of water berry development is characterised by flaccidness of the berries in a bunch, which get wrinkled, withered, soft, watery and lack sugars, flavour and keeping quality. This is due to thestem necrosis, which results into the interrupted flow of carbohydrates and minerals into the berries (Christensen and Boggero, 2). The two most prevalent theories related to this disorder are hormonal and nutritional imbalances. Therefore, the present investigation was undertaken to study the effect of cluster dipping in minerals salt and growth regulator solutions on extent of water berry development and quality of Perlette grapes.
