Application of gas-chromatography/tandem mass-spectrometry to the analysis of pesticide residues in foods.

Use of GC with ion trap tandem MS for analysis of pesticide residues in foods is discussed. Trials showed that this technique is able to discriminate pesticides at low concn. while retaining the qualitative information and improving confidence level. MS conditions and signaloise ratios are given for a wide range of pesticides. The method is applicable to monitoring pesticide levels at tolerances as low as 0.010 mg/kg.
