XFR: the subtle side of seduction

Jaguar's super-saloon doesn't scream about its pace from the rooftops - but that doesn't mean it's not great. IF YOU'VE BEEN reading Autocar for a while, you'll probably know about Mike Cross. He's the man who makes Jaguars drive the way they do, because he leads the small team devoted to the black arts of getting ride, handling, steering and other controls spot on. Judging by the recent results we've sampled, he's doing a brilliant job -and our long-term XFR is a good case in point. I find it impossible not to occasionally consider Mike when I've been in Jaguar's super-saloon, in fact, because the car he's helped to develop and tune is a lot like him.
