Minicab looks kept this fast Ford from the stardom it deserved. The 2002 Mondeo ST220 isn't very old, but it already feels like a rare car because you just don't see these 223bhp, V6 family Fords on the road much. There's a good reason for this: Ford didn't sell all that many. But that's not because it was a clunker. Instead, badge snobbery ensured that this half-forgotten fast Ford stayed rare, few wanting to spend ￡22,500 on a car resembling a minicab-in-waiting on 18in alloys, no matter how well it drove. And the result is that when you can find one, these 150mph machines can be had for well under ￡6000. For which you get a huge amount of highly entertaining car.
