摘要

Clonal propagation was standardized in Populus ciliata. Thirty plus trees were selected from three different places in Himachal Pradesh Information on variability, hcritability and expected genetic gain (genetic advance as per cent of mean) were obtained from five characters. In general, heritability estimates were quite high for most of the characters. Height provides a lot of variability, high heritability and maximum genetic advance of 18.37 per cent followed by internodal length, collar diameter, leaf index and bark thickness. Height should be given top priority for selection of plus trees Experimental clonal orchard was established by using plus trees.
